Human Resource Coordinator


Handel Architects is currently seeking a creative, multifaceted Human Resource Coordinator to join our team of over 150 Architects/Designers and support staff. Our office, established in 1994, is a fast paced, vibrant and collective workplace that requires a candidate to be an outgoing, accessible team player. While the candidate will facilitate basic HR functions and provide support for our main office in NY, he or she will liaise with our smaller San Francisco and Hong Kong offices.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major/minor in HR.
  • PHR Certification.
  • Advanced, demonstrable knowledge in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent professional, communication skills.
  • Knowledge of NY employment law and proper compliance procedures. (California law a plus).
  • Background or interest in Architecture/Design
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
HUMAN RESOURCE ADMINISTRATION

  • HR and Benefits Administration enrollment and coordination with Controller
  • Employee Information tracking, updating.
  • Coordination of recruitment and hiring effort by assisting in house team.
  • Coordination and maintenance of employee visa documentation.
  • Conduct new hire and close out procedures.
  • Communication of FSA, Benefits, terminations, new hires, etc., to Controller.
  • Responsive to employee questions regarding HR issues.
  • Liaise with legal counsel to understand and communicate labor and employment laws so as to assure office compliance.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Schedule, attend and track annual employee reviews
  • Support ongoing mentorship and career development programs.
  • Assemble training programs, speakers, and career development activities.

Intermediate Architect with Revit Experience


Handel Architects is currently seeking creative and multifaceted Intermediate Architect with Revit experience to join our team. The position is specifically seeking a candidates with strong to expert Building Information Modeling (BIM) skills and 3-7 years of professional experience. Candidates need to demonstrate participation on a minimum of two large scale projects developed in BIM. In addition to joining a project team that is designing/documenting a high rise mixed use tower, the job involves a leadership role through participation in a core group that can guide Handel to superior BIM documentation. Experience with interoperability between BIM and other environments is a valuable additional benefit.. Candidates must have strong communication skills and be comfortable working within a team.

Senior Technical Architect


Handel Architects is seeking a seasoned senior technical architect with 10+ years of professional experience. Experience in mixed-use mid or high rise development projects is required; detailing exterior envelope, interior detailing, coordinating specifications, and construction administration for same. Project Designer


We are currently hiring unique and energetic designers to join our studio, and collaborate in the design of large, complex mixed-use buildings.
Responsibilities:

  • Strong design skills
  • Ability to represent designs through visual media
  • Experience with multi-family, commercial and mixed-use buildings preferred
  • Strong communication skills required

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters in Architecture from an accredited university
  • 5-7 years of post-professional degree experience
  • Must have experience and facility with Rhino, 3DMax, or other comparable visualization program

Architectural Designer


Handel Architects LLP is hiring a full time architectural designer.

Job Duties: Play leading role in all aspects of project phases from Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration. In charge of leading the team to produce a coherent and well-coordinated construction document sets that best represent the design intent of the project. In charge of coordinating construction specifications with project manager, specification consultant, vendors, construction manager. In charge of leading the team for the firm's design competition projects.

Educational Requirements: Master’s degree in architecture.

Experience: 2-year work experience as architectural designer, specifically in architectural interior millwork design for luxury residential, luxury residential design, architectural design competition, comprehensive experience from design development to construction document production and construction administration.
Special requirements: Auto CAD, Revit, In Design, Maya, 3d Max, Rhino, Sketch-up skills.

Paid Academic Internships


In addition to full-time employment opportunities, Handel Architects offers both summer and school year internships. Candidates for Internships should be currently enrolled in either a B. Arch. or M. Arch. program and have a maximum of two years remaining prior to graduation. Internships will also be considered for recent graduates from a professional degree program.

Summer employment is generally from end of May through mid to late August.

Project Architect 7-10 Years’ Experience


Our San Francisco office is looking for smart, energetic, responsible candidates who can work effectively in a team environment, adept at solving problems creating and overseeing construction documents, coordinating with project teams, and interfacing with consultants and construction teams.
Required experienced skills:

  • Strong 2016 Revit proficiency

  • Exterior façade and waterproofing detailing and consultant coordination
