About the Job

Handel Architects is currently seeking an exceptional Accounting Assistant. The successful candidate will work closely with the Controller and Billing Manager to maintain a comprehensive financial system for our firm.

Responsibilities

  • Generate statements/letters for Accounts Receivable Aging accounts
  • Assist with Accounts Payable
  • Monitor employee timesheet submittals for weekly/monthly deadlines
  • Enter Partners timesheets
  • Assist with compiling Employee Expense Reports
  • Prepare monthly project printing audit
  • Liaise with Consultants to verify accuracy of invoices, track missing invoices, respond to inquiries, etc
  • Request and manage document files in hard copy and electronic form – project contracts, project insurance certificates, invoices, etc.
  • Track data and prepare a variety of reports
  • Recommend actions to resolve discrepancies
  • Investigate questionable data
  • Assist in other admin tasks

Attributes & Skills

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Accounting required
  • 1-3 years experience
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with Ajera
  • Experience with Deltek VantagePoint a strong plus
  • Superior analytical, quantitative, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail and an innovative mindset
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to meet business demands
  • Able to work autonomously with little to no oversight
  • Team player

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $60,000 - $70,000 commensurate with experience
