About the Job

We are currently seeking an exceptional Human Resource Manager/Generalist to join our team in our New York office to help raise our practice to the next level. The HR Manager/Generalist will be responsible for cultivating and implementing HR strategies to further the firm’s growth and development of talented professionals at various stages in their careers. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, independent, and personable with the desire to help shape the office culture. They will be responsible for recruiting new talent, professional development of the staff, employee relations, and management of the day to day internal HR operations of the company.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Background or interest in Architecture, Construction, or Design
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major/minor in HR
  • PHR/SHRM Certification a plus
  • Advanced, demonstrable knowledge in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent professional, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Knowledge of NY employment law and proper compliance procedures (California law a plus)
  • Familiarity with Deltek VantagePoint and Talent a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruiting initiatives, applicant tracking, and hiring efforts with in-house team
  • Onboard new hires and off board term. employees
  • Manage annual employee reviews
  • Develop initiatives to support career development of all staff
  • Work with employee-led professional development groups
  • Update and implement firm policies and procedures
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR issues
  • Consult with legal counsel to ensure office is complying with state and federal laws
  • Benefits administration
  • Coordinate and maintain employee visa documentation
