Handel Architects, LLP is an award-winning, full-service architecture, planning and interiors firm committed to design excellence. Our San Francisco Interior Design Studio is looking for a smart, energetic, responsible Interior Designer / Architect with a passion for interiors.

Our growing studio is seeking an individual with strong design and technical skills, adept at conceiving, developing and overseeing a wide range of hospitality and residential projects. You will work with and report to the Director of Interiors by, mentoring and developing talent within our studio, and work with the Director and team members to generate design concepts. You will lead the design journey from storyboard through to Construction Documents and Construction Administration, taking projects from concept through to completion.

Designers in our studio play an integral role in overseeing, leading and furthering design. They are actively involved with their respective projects, and designers are expected to show initiative, have entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for establishing relationships with other team members, consultants and client teams.

Studio members of all levels are required to be flexible, open minded and willing to work concurrent projects. We try to be a fluid group and encourage open design dialog and participation.


Responsibilities

  • Manage projects both large-scale and small
  • Create, manage and coordinate design and construction drawings
  • Interface with clients and consultants
  • Verbally present design and technical ideas
  • Lead, manage, and mentor junior and mid-level designers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design
  • Professional portfolio demonstrating passion for interior design and interior architecture
  • Proven success developing and overseeing concurrent projects
  • People, service and relationship driven
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Highly organized and collaborative
  • Results-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professionalism when interfacing with clients
  • Leading and mentoring junior and mid-level staff
  • AutoCAD and Revit proficiency
  • Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign)
  • Sketch Up and Rhino knowledge
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge, coordination and detailing
