Handel Architects’ New York office is currently seeking a detail-oriented architectural designer or registered architect to assist with the Construction Administration services for projects in a range of locations including Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Boston. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience and strong Revit capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and processing shop drawings and tracking open and priority items for review
  • Reviewing samples, substitutions, and mock-ups for use in the project
  • Preparing sketches and supplemental documentation in response to Contractor RFIs or design/coordination changes
  • Bi-weekly site visits and Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings
  • Assembling Field Observation Reports and tracking open issues
  • Participating in coordination meetings
  • Coordinating documentation and reviewing project data for compliance to applicable codes and standards

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • 5+ years of post-graduate professional experience required, preferably in high-rise multi-family and/or mixed-use development
  • Prior experience in, and understanding of, construction administration practices and procedures
  • Professional fluency in Revit
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and MS Office
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple, tight deadlines and work on various tasks concurrently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Familiarity with building codes a plus
