    Ashley Murphy-Aqtash AIA

    Senior Associate

    Ashley Murphy-Aqtash is a Senior Associate at Handel Architects with over 10 years of experience with a focus on residential and mixed-use residential design. Her experience includes both ground up construction and renovation work, including renovation of historically significant buildings.

    Ms. Murphy-Aqtash is currently the Project Architect for 2033 5th Ave, a mixed income residential building in Central Harlem that will also serve as the new home for National Black Theatre. Previously, Ms. Murphy Aqtash served as Project Designer for a two-tower residential project at Hallets Point in Queens, New York, as well as Handel Architects’ new residential building, DC Crossing, in Washington, DC. Other work includes an office to residential luxury rental conversion at 250 Church Street in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood; design for two high-end residential renovation projects for client Harry Macklowe at 150 East 72nd Street and 737 Park Avenue; and the recent renovation of Printed Matter, an iconic community bookstore in Chelsea.

    Prior to joining Handel Architects, Ms. Murphy-Aqtash worked as a Project Designer for Hanrahan Meyers Architects, where her work focused on interior renovation projects.

    Ms. Murphy-Aqtash is a licensed architect in the State of New York. She received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute, School of Architecture.
