    Seth Riseman

    Principal, Director of Boston Office

    Seth Riseman has over 20 years of experience in mixed-use building and urban design projects around the world. As Director of Handel Architects’ Boston Office, he oversees all the firm’s efforts in the region. Re­cent notable projects include the 2 Harbor Life Science Campus under construction in the South Boston Waterfront, which will bring over 1M sq. ft. of lab space to the area when complete; Winthrop Center, a 1.8M sq. ft. mixed-use commercial and residential tower under construction in Boston’s Financial District; Parcel 13, a mixed-use lab and affordable housing project in Boston’s Back Bay; 545 Sackett, a 255-unit rental building currently under construction in Gowanus, Brooklyn, NY; Madison House, a 199-unit condominium tower in Manhattan; The Bower, a 125-unit condominium build­ing in Washington DC’s Navy Yard neighborhood; and Journal Squared, a three-tower residential development in Jersey City, NJ.

    Prior to joining Handel Architects, Mr. Riseman was an architectural and urban designer at Utile, Inc. in Boston. He has worked on an array of urban design and mixed-use building projects in Massachusetts, California, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Minnesota and Washington D.C. as well as abroad in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the U.A.E. and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

    Mr. Riseman currently serves on the Board of the Boston Society for Architecture. He has lectured and taught at the Northeast­ern University and the Boston Architectural College. His writ­ing has been published in Urban Land Magazine. Mr. Riseman’s work has been recognized with numerous awards including the Ur­ban Land Institute / Gerald D. Hines Urban Design Compe­tition, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston’s Affordable Housing Design Competition and Harvard University’s In the Pursuit of Housing Award.

    Mr. Riseman graduated with a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Virginia and a M. Arch and M. Arch. in Urban Design from Harvard University.
