The Facades+ Conference in Boston featured the latest developments in building enclosure design and technology.

Handel Senior Associate David Woshinsky presented on 2 Harbor with SOCOTEC’s Alberto Franceschet and moderator Leslie Sims from AECOM. They discussed the design development and technical execution of 2 Harbor's unique, high-performance facade. Located on the South Boston waterfront, the new lab sciences building is characterized by a striking facade that references the historic warehouse vernacular of the area while also incorporating torqued metal fins inspired by origami. The WELL and LEED Platinum building forgoes a fully glass facade in favor of a 60% solid exterior and employs triple glazing on window sections for enhanced energy performance.
