Led by Senior Associate Jessica Levine on October 20th, members of the design team led participants on a tour of Pier 57, a New York landmark and adaptive reuse project.
Handel is proud to participate in Archtober, a month-long programming initiative organized by the Center for Architecture in collaboration with over 100 partners and sponsors that gathers events ranging from daily building tours and lectures by design experts, to architecture-themed competitions and parties.
Pier 57 was an engineering marvel when it was completed, underpinned by three separate submerged buoyant concrete caissons which had been made upriver and floated down the Hudson. The pier now houses office space for Google, two performance venues, and a restaurant & tasting room. The rooftop houses a public park with outdoor screening venue. Learn more about Archtober here.
