Pier 57 wins Adaptive Reuse Award from the Municipal Art Society of New York

Project recognized for creating versatile space for the public in adaptive reuse of a historic terminal.

We are excited to announce that Pier 57 has been awarded the 2024 Masterworks Award for Best Adaptive Reuse by the Municipal Art Society (MAS) of New York! The project transformed the 1950s maritime structure, which had served as a parking lot for three decades, into a new mixed-use destination with expansive public areas, a rooftop park with views of the Hudson River, spaces for Google, two performance venues, retail, and a 100-seat capacity restaurant and tasting room.

Congratulations to our clients and partners, including Hudson River Park, RXR, Youngwoo & Associates, Google, !melk, AKRF, Silman Structural Solutions, and Higgins Quasebarth & Partners.

Great work from the Handel project team of Frank Fusaro, Gary Handel, Rick Kearns, Antonio Donofrio, Chun Hsu, David Woshinsky, Tom Florkewicz, Jessica Levine, Mindy Shields, PJ Ross, Kai-Yu Yu, Shaun Shih, Jonathan Morefield, Mat Leung, Sarah Smith, and Mikhail Kim.
