Serif SF and The Line Hotel wins American Architecture Award

Mixed-use building wins in the Hotels & Hospitality category.

We are excited to share that Serif SF and The Line Hotel has won the prestigious American Architecture Award, an awards program that is a collaboration between The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, The European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, and Metropolitan Arts Press.

The scale and aesthetic of Serif and The Line Hotel are designed to relate to the context of adjacent buildings in the Tenderloin and along Market Street. The building massing addresses the challenging proportions of the irregularly-shaped site while also carving out a generous outdoor plaza for the public realm on Turk Street.

Congratulations to the Handel team, our client Group I, as well as our design partners IwamotoScott, Knibb Design, BAR Architects & Interiors, and many others!
