20 & 30 Halletts Point
20 & 30 Halletts Point uses white double-height frames to anchor the base and a light silver glass above to reflect the water.
20 & 30 Halletts Point is a new two-building residential development located on the Astoria, Queens waterfront in New York City. The project includes 647 residential rental units, retail, and a beautiful new waterfront public open space designed by Starr Whitehouse.
The design draws inspiration from the buildings' spectacular waterfront location on the East River. Clean lines and light colors are used to visually tie the buildings to the water, with white double-height frames that anchor the base and light silver glass above to pick up the colors of the river and sky. Above, the building crowns are rendered in a silver finish metal and lit at night, serving as beacons on the waterfront.
Inside, spaces are connected gracefully in a light palette that reflects the sun on the river. Lobby walls are clad in vertical wooden slats, floors are a light Terrazzo. Units use a similar sunlit palette, with clean lines to showcase the magnificence of the waterfront views.
20 & 30 Halletts Point are designed to achieve LEED Platinum.
