950 Tennessee Interiors

Client Leap Development
Location San Francisco, CA
Project Type Interiors
Status Completed in 2020

950 Tennessee uses rich, natural materials and industrial-inspired accents to create a distinctive luxury living experience.

The interiors approach at 950 Tennessee was derived from the rich history of the Dogpatch neighborhood, which has served as home to a variety of factories and warehouses, and, increasingly, more residential uses. The building recalls this recent past both inside and out through the use of rich, natural materials with industrial-inspired accents.

The lobby welcomes residents with polished concrete floors, warm oak textures, and brass accents. Residents are serviced at a concierge desk comprised of a waterfall of Breccia Viola marble, and can then either access an exterior courtyard or the residential elevators.

The residential corridors are warm in overall tone, with a 3-color custom carpet, Herringbone accents in the wallcovering, and dark baseboards. The unit entries are created with deep black accents surrounding an ebony-veneered entry door, accented with brass unit numbers.

Residential units offer a lighter color palette, with natural materials expressed through neutral tones and clean lines.

Oak plank flooring runs throughout the units. Light oak kitchens provided by Domus and Domus are accented by dark hardware in clean lines, and contrasted by a dark pine island. Appliances provided by Bertazzoni include a 4-burner gas cooktop and panelized dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Matte black plumbing fixtures from Kohler are mounted on the engineered concrete counter. The backsplash is a simple white gloss subway tile, adding a timeless and unique design aspect to the kitchens.

Unit master bathrooms have a matte dark grey porcelain floor, contrasting with a white chevron accent tile on the walls.

Counters are a polished Gregio Tucci marble, with backlit mirrors and matte black fixtures / accessories. Unit guest bathrooms are similar in design, with a matte black porcelain floor and a premium white engineered marble wall tile. The engineered Calacatta counters are contrasted by matte black fixtures and accessories. The unit powder bathrooms mimic the master bathrooms in material palette in a smaller package.

The building also includes a large rooftop terrace, overlooking the San Francisco skyline to the north.

Heavy metal screens and natural wood benches are mixed in with local greenery to create a quiet escape from the world below.
