Interiors at the Four Seasons Private Residences are inspired by the grand homes of classic Park Avenue buildings.

Handel Architects' interiors approach for the new Four Seasons Residences was inspired by the grand homes of classic Park Avenue buildings. The project involves the conversion and restoration of the historic Aronson Building dating to 1903, and an elegant new tower next door.

The interiors of both buildings are designed to complement one another, creating a feeling of cohesion between the two while still being visually distinct. The Aronson building uses a darker palette, reflective of the robust masonry of the exterior, while the glass tower's interiors are light and airy.

The entry experience is discreet and luxurious.

Residents enter through a private driveway clad in Flamed Black Granite in a woven diamond pattern. A layered green wall offers privacy, combined with a calming water feature sculpted out of white marble and naval brass. The exterior of the lobby is clad in Aronson’s historic brick façade, blended with the sleek steel beams reminiscent of the tower. A brass inlaid welcome mat with the building address acts as a landing point for residents. The entry door is blackened steel, and clad in a custom diamond brass screen.

Inside, an elegant lobby lounge is backed by a marble fireplace.

The entry floor is a Bianco Veina marble, laid out in a four-point Herringbone pattern, centered between the entry and desk. The fireplace is a stone feature of Portoro silver marble, in a diamond match, while the mantle is infilled with a crema delicato white marble. The furniture is a contemporary/modern blend, and all of it is custom made. The sofa is a velvet blend, and the armchairs are leather in a stained oak frame. The casegoods are solid oak, with brass and marble accents.

The concierge desk is a Portoro Silver marble, accented with polished nickel.

The lobby walls are a stained ebony oak framework, filled with a silk patterned wallcovering, while a singular feature wall is clad in Avoia grey marble, and will showcase large artwork. The ceiling has a series of lit coffers with stained oak frames.

An Art Gallery will guide residents to both elevator lobbies.

The Aronson Building elevator lobby is a representation of the chic and elegant palette of the units themselves. The colors are darker, to accent the polished nickel accents found in the lighting and elevator surrounds. The floor is a geometric marble inlay created with four different marbles. The elevator surround is a double trim of Arabescato Corchia, infilled with a custom screen pattern backed by a polished mirror. The ceiling is a stained oak trimmed light cove, with a champagne pewter leaf finish. Elevator cabs are designed to match the lobby.

In contrast, the tower elevator lobby reflects the lighter, more serene feel of the tower units above.

The walls are a white painted 3-piece panel, accented with an Avoia Grey marble wall. The floor is a marble inlaid geometric pattern, made from the main lobby’s Bianco Veina floor, with an Avoia grey background. The elevator surrounds are Arabescato Corchia trims, accented with polished chrome screens and lighting. The ceiling is a stained oak trimmed light cove, with a champagne pewter leaf finish.

The darker palette in the residential units of the Aronson Building evoke an earlier, more genteel era.

Open floor plans and high ceilings combine with dark wood and stone finishes. Appliances by Wolf and Sub-Zero anchor the kitchen; honed Madreperola quartzite countertops and custom-stained ebony Poggenpohl cabinets with white interiors provide a refined palette. In the bathroom, honed Arabescato marble, German milled Poggenpohl cabinetry and Dornbracht fixtures create a beautiful backdrop for the free-standing Victoria & Albert Amiata tub.

Tower residences feature a lighter palette, with floor-to-ceiling glass, high ceilings and open floor plans.

The unit entry features a striking stone surround and patterned floors. The kitchen features honed Calacatta Oro Italian marble and German milled cabinetry by Poggenpohl. 146-bottle wine storage allows for seamless entertaining. The tower master bedroom boasts 10’ ceiling heights and a spectacularly sized dressing room. In the master bathroom, a Victoria & Albert Amiata tub is accented by Blue de Savoie French marble, German milled Poggenpohl cabinetry and Dornbracht fixtures.
