Gold Coast Residence

Client Private residence
Location San Francisco, CA
Status Completed in 2017

The Gold Coast Residence combines contemporary chic design with rustic touches.

This LEED Platinum private residence is located on the Gold Coast of San Francisco, AKA Billionaire Row, which is home to some of the Bay Area’s most influential entrepreneurs.

Handel Interiors created a state-of-the-art home with spaces that are timeless, warm and transitional. In 2017, the 9,000 square-foot residence sold for a record $40 million, making it the single most expensive home ever sold in San Francisco.

The kitchen is anchored by ten-foot high oak three-panel doors. Brushed limestone, Italian marble, and bronze hardware offset Fantini and Dornbracht fixtures. A Lacanche range, hand-built in France, adds unexpected flair to the sleek Bulthaup kitchen.

To lighten the mass of the upper cabinets, they are surrounded in a light Arabescato Oro stone. Fixtures and fittings provide an opportunity for unexpected contrasts, with a stainless steel skin bringing an air of modernity to the classic Lacanche range and a jewelry-like rose gold finish imbuing a pair of sleek Dornbracht faucets with a sense of warmth.

A hand-built, blackened steel wine room continues the exercise in contrast.

The precision built showcase is made of earthy wood paneling, sleek glass, and industrial metal.
