Location New York City, NY
Status Completed in 2001

The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park combines variegated brickwork with a granite and glass podium.

Located on the southernmost site in Manhattan’s Battery Park City neighborhood, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park is a mixed-use building comprised of a hotel on the lower 13 floors with 26 floors of condominiums above. An architecture museum, called The Skyscraper Museum, occupies part of the ground floor.

Combining brick masonry and curtainwall on concrete, flat-plate construction, the exterior is a composition of large and small elements that relate to the existing buildings of Battery Park City and their harbor-front location. A landscaped park with a restaurant and café defines the front approach, while a second restaurant with an outdoor terrace overlooks the harbor from the 13th floor. Additional amenities include a fitness center and spa, meeting rooms, and banquet halls.
