Gary Handel is among a handful of supporters being honored by the Tenement Museum at their 2023 Gala.

Handel Architects Managing Partner Gary Handel is on the Board of New York City's Tenement Museum, and this year he will be among a few honored for their contributions to this vital institution. In addition to Gary, the Gala will honor Lonnie G. Bunch lll, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution; Anita Jacobson, Co-Founder of the Museum in 1988; and my fellow trustees Scott Metzner and Evan Wagowski, who are working with him on the preservation of 97 Orchard Street.

The Tenement Museum tells the story of immigration in America through the personal experiences of individuals and families who actually lived in the buildings now occupied by the museum on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

This year’s Gala “Rebuilding Our Foundations” will take place on May 2nd at City Winery in New York City and will also be livestreamed to participants from across the country and the world. See photos from the event here!
