We are excited to share that Gotham Point has been recognized by SARA NY for demonstrating design excellence.
Gotham Point is a two-tower, million-square-foot development on the Queens waterfront. The project includes over a thousand units, 75% of which are designated affordable. Nearly 100 units have been set aside specifically for seniors, all of which are affordable and include their own dedicated amenities.
This project marks one of the last major developments in transforming the Hunter’s Point South area from an industrial site into a vibrant mixed-use community. By offering the majority of its units as affordable housing, Gotham Point ensures that this prime location remains accessible to long-time residents of the neighborhood, maintaining the borough's vibrant, diverse character and democratizing access to waterfront living.
The development comprises a 58-story and a 34-story tower separated by a school, designed to complement the diverse architectural landscape of the Queens waterfront. The buildings embrace the park and river with indoor/outdoor spaces that blend into the landscaping, drawing inspiration from natural elements. The towers’ bases open to retail and community spaces, promoting resident interaction.
We are proud to have been a part of this project working alongside Gotham Organization, RiseBoro Community Partnership, DeSimone Consulting Engineers, Cosentini Associates, Future Green Studio, Gilbane, and many, many others.
Congrats to the Handel team of Gary Handel, Amar Sen, Krista Armstrong, Rachael Kalousdian, Jonathan Morefield, Kai-Yu Yu, and Robin Zhang.
