Juan Hua
The facade pattern of Juan Hua was based on the historic farmland pattern and the idea of harvest.
Juan Hua - "engraved art" - is a new 89-unit residential tower located in the Yang Bei District within Xin Dian city in Taipei. The tower has been positioned to take advantage of views to a greenbelt to the south as well as a garden immediately adjacent to the east.
Juan Hua sits within in its own massive garden - over 1,000 sq. meters, which is rare in this dense, urban context. The project was designed to blur the boundaries between inside and out, and the large garden houses a number of building amenities including a multi-function pavilion. Some of the units at the lower levels and penthouse levels will have their own exclusive outdoor garden areas as well.
Upper floors feature double-height living room spaces and private gardens. At the tower’s top is a tea house within a publicly accessible sky garden.

The façade pattern was modeled off of the site's historic farmland pattern.
This "harvest" concept is expressed through warm-colored metal frames which are stretched multiple floors. Projected frames provide outdoor shading while creating depth to the facade, which ties to the exposed structure.
