The interiors approach at The Belvedere combines strong geometric forms with natural materials.

The Belvedere is a seven-story boutique condominium building located on an infill site in the Cow Hollow neighborhood of San Francisco. The 25-unit project fronts Van Ness Avenue where it integrates with the historic Victorian context of the neighborhood. The interiors approach balances natural materials and old-world elegance with strong geometric shapes. The result is in the details, with custom-made pieces that lend the project a distinctive character. The building offers two- and three-bedroom residences, a limited collection of four-corner-view residences, parking, a lounge, and a rooftop terrace with unobstructed views of surrounding neighborhoods and the Bay.

Residents enter into an intimate lobby that feels warm and inviting.

Repeating, angular forms and a warm, limited color palate characterize the building's reception and lounge. Walls are decorated with coffered wood paneling and become a focal point of the space. A curved reception desk acts as a dramatic centerpiece, with a Firo di Bosco marble countertop atop bronze fins.

The ceiling complements the wall pattern with tiered, recessed lighting that casts a warm glow.

The ceiling is designed to mirror and enhance the depth of the wall paneling, making the room feel bigger than it is. A poured terrazzo floor in a rectangular grid is inlayed with brass, breaking up the grid with curving lines that echo the shape of the reception desk.

Across from the reception, a custom screen of cerused oak creates privacy for the mailroom on the other side.

Residents have the option of entering the building into the main lobby, or next door directly into the mailroom. The screen mimics the butterfly shape that is expressed on the exterior of the building and creates contrast between solid and void. Juxtaposed with the pattern of the screen is a marble accent wall with beautiful veining.

A landscaped roof deck is organized into intimate dining and gathering spaces with sweeping views of the Bay.

Wood plank flooring and brass details continue the building's signature color palate and lend the outdoor space a warmth.

Units feature imported Italian stone, Madera European Oak floors, Gabana Quartzite countertops, and custom cabinetry.

Residences offer light-filled rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows. Both the kitchen and the bath have a portal feeling, with stone that wraps around the millwork. Custom lighting and hardware ensure a cohesive design down to the details, while Miele appliances and Waterworks fixtures compliment the luxury finishes.
