Handel Architects’ Fifth Street Farm project officially opened on October 12th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony atop the Robert E. Simon Complex in the East Village. In addition to students and teachers, the event was attended by Borough President Scott Stringer, State Senator Daniel Squadron and Councilwoman Rosie Mendez, as well as Handel Architects’ Partner Michael Arad. The East Sixth Street building is shared by the Earth School, P.S. 64, and Tompkins Square Park School.
