Krista Armstrong, AIA
Associate Principal
Krista Armstrong is an Associate Principal at Handel Architects, which she joined in 1998. She has served as Project Architect and Project Manager for a number residential and hospitality projects in New York City.
Current work includes serving as Project Manager for The Maybury, a 453-unit multifamily tower on the West Side of Manhattan for the Gotham Organization. Previous work includes 165 Broome Street Residences, a project on the Lower East Side of Manhattan that includes affordable residences and community facilities. Prior to that she served as Project Manager for Gotham Point, a 1,132-unit residential development on the Queens waterfront; the project is 75% affordable and includes senior housing. She also served as Project Architect for Fisher Brothers' House 39, a 372-unit residential tower which was completed in 2017. She previously served as Project Architect for RFR's renovation of a luxury residential building at 530 Park Avenue. Prior to that she completed 505 West 37th Street, an 860,000 sq. ft., 835-unit residential building in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards district. The project includes a 43-story tower and a 34-story tower, and includes 168 affordable units.
Other notable work includes Arbor Condominiums, a mid-rise residential building in the Bronx comprising 127 units, and the Ritz-Carlton Downtown Hotel & Residences in Battery Park City.
Ms. Armstrong received her Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Barnard College and her Master of Architecture from Rice University.
