    Amar Sen

    Principal

    Amar Sen is a Principal at Handel Architects which he joined in 1995. He has served as Project Manager for some of the firm’s most prominent projects, with significant expertise in residential and hospitality design. Current work includes a new 400,000 sq. ft. luxury residential tower at 30th and Madison in New York City; a mixed-use hotel/condo tower in Long Island City in Queens; a 100% affordable residential project in Coney Island in Brooklyn; and a new low-rise luxury residential building in Washington, DC's Georgetown neighborhood.

    Completed work includes 525 West 52nd Street in Manhattan; the first two towers at Journal Square in Jersey City; VIO & Incanto Residences on Washington DC's Southwest waterfront, a mid-rise condo building called The Bower in DC's Navy Yards neighborhood; The Ritz-Carlton Hotel & Residences in Downtown DC; 3303 Water Street in DC's Georgetown neighborhood; and The Ritz-Carlton Residences in Philadelphia.

    Prior to joining Handel Architects, Mr. Sen worked for Samuel Anderson Architects, and before that for C.C. Yu Architects in Taipei. Mr. Sen holds his Bachelor of Arts and his Master of Architecture from Columbia University. He has received many honors for his work including a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, a Graham Foundation Grant, a Deborah J. Norden Traveling Fellowship, a Lucille Smyser Lowenfish Memorial Prize, and a Kinne Traveling Fellowship.
