Malay Shah, LEED AP

Principal

Malay Shah is a Principal at Handel Architects, which he joined in 2000. He has managed projects in New York, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston and India, including residential, hospitality, and mixed-use work.

Current work includes 20-30 Halletts Point, a two-tower multifamily project for Durst on the Queens waterfront in New York City, and The Noble, a 360-unit multi-family building in Philadelphia for National Real Estate Development and The KRE Group. Completed work includes Crossing DC, a 800-unit residential building for Tishman Speyer, located in Washington DC's Navy Yard neighborhood; and Aykon City for DAMAC in Dubai which includes 960 residential units, 1,750 serviced apartments, a 60-key hotel, and 900,000 sq. ft. of office space. Mr. Shah also served as Project Designer for the 2.25 million sq. ft. mixed-use Shangri-La at the Fort in Manila, Philippines, which opened in 2016.

Previously, Mr. Shah served as Project Designer for 3303 Water Street, a 240,000 sq. ft. residential building in the historic Georgetown area of Washington, DC. He also served as Project Architect for the exterior skin design and development of the Quorum Center, a 290,000 sq.ft. mixed-use project in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Before joining Handel Architects, Mr. Shah was Project Architect at Sen Architects and at Vijay Kale Architects, both in New York City. Mr. Shah has also worked as a Project Architect and Designer at several firms in India and Bhutan, where he completed a variety of projects for public and private clients.
